Watch out, Midge Maisel and Blair Waldorf — NYC’s acquired a new Tv fashion queen.
“Katy Keene,” whose eponymous star is played by Lucy Hale from “Pretty Tiny Liars,” is the CW’s new spinoff of its twisted teenager hit, “Riverdale.” The splashy drama, which premiered Thursday, is influenced by a retro “Archie” comedian-ebook sequence of the identical name, and follows a team of twentysomething creatives in New York Town.
“The New York of ‘Katy Keene’ is the New York of the creativeness,” Michael Grassi, who co-created the clearly show with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, tells The Submit. “It form of references the New York that we noticed in our preferred flicks and Tv demonstrates developing up — like ‘A Refrain Line’ or ‘Working Girl’ or ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’”
