James Reilly, 32, is the winner of the Sunday Mail’s Bachelor of the Bush competition, which aims to reduce social isolation.
“It’s amazing and, no, I didn’t think I would be chosen,” James says.
“It’s been a bit of fun during an otherwise difficult time, but unfortunately no women are knocking at my door.”
James received the most votes of 13 finalists, with Waikerie’s Ben Schier, Kadina’s Hamish Price and Port Lincoln’s Patrick Andison tying for second place.
Each finalist shared what’s best about their region from a tourism perspective, and what they’re looking for in a partner.
James wins four corporate tickets to the Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs game at Adelaide Oval on Anzac Day.
“I’ll have to try and find a date before then,” James joked.
