On Sunday, 13 days right after the police killing of George Floyd, which has galvanized protests globally, 9 customers of the Minneapolis City Council took to Powderhorn Park to pledge to just take following actions in dismantling the Minneapolis Law enforcement Department.
“We’re here for the reason that we listen to you. We are here now for the reason that George Floyd was killed by the Minneapolis Law enforcement. We are here for the reason that here in Minneapolis and in cities across the United States it is very clear that our present method of policing and general public basic safety is not keeping our communities harmless,” Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender reported. “Our attempts at incremental reform have failed.
